Programs beginning Fall 2011
Art classes, academic enrichment, 4-H, Drama and Choir, Destination Imagination, Cheerleading, STEM, Home Economics, Gardening, children’s activities… all under one roof at CrossRoads Christian Fellowship. Below is a list of many of our LEAP programs and a short description:
HEALTH & FITNESS
- SPARK: Sports, Play, and Active Recreation For Kids is an after school program full of fun fitness ranging from dance to group sports. This is a wonderful way to introduce kids to the importance of health, wellness and how good it feels to be active.
- CHEERLEADING: Taught by our own Bigfork High School Cheerleaders.
ACADEMIC
- HOMEWORK & TUTORING: Get help with homework and school projects at LEAP!
- STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering and Math all disguised in fun experiments and projects!
- GARDENING: Learn about soil, worms, terrarium's.... plant an herb garden and have some fun!
ARTS & HUMANITIES
- THEATRE: LEAP is an active supporter of the Arts, including the Bigfork Playhouse Children's Theatre and Children's Opera taught by Bigfork music teachers.
- BAND: Jazz Band and the soon-to-be-famous Bigfork Bucket Band!
- FINE ARTS: LEAP art classes include drawing, painting, ceramics, paper making, print making, jewelry making, paper mache' and Native American art taught by local artist Lusana Stokes.
COMMUNITY & SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT
- INTERACT: It's all about community and getting students involved with Bigfork!
- LEADERSHIP PROGRAM: Kids interact within the community, such as visiting an Assisted Living facility and decorating the halls with handmade posters. Older kids assist with the younger children and participate in the Reading Buddy Program where they read to kindergartners.
- CHARACTER BUILDING & SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT: Kids discuss and role play social scenes dealing with contemporary issues kids face in today’s world while learning and practicing problem solving skills.
